2014 was a weird year. In one of the bigger upsets in recent tournament history, The #14 Mercer Bears bounced the #3 Duke Blue Devils in the first round. AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas hosted the first National Championship in history to not include a #1, #2 or #3 seeded team. As the two lowest seeds to ever meet in the National Championship, the matchup between the #8 Kentucky Wildcats and #7 Connecticut Huskies was anybody’s game to win. After taking the back seat to Kemba Walker in 2011 as a freshman, Shabazz Napier was ready for the spotlight. Napier led the Huskies with 22 points helping them to their second National Championship in four years, beating the Wildcats 60-54.
